Post-Secondary Information Night

Location: Virtual

The goal of this event is to help students and their families explore post-secondary options and gain a better understanding of the available financial supports.

This event is ideal for students in grades 8-12 and all parents/caregivers. It is never too early to explore post-secondary pathways. This event will help students to think about their desired career field and the steps they need to take to achieve their goal.

Guest speakers will include the Black Access to Educational Excellence (BAEE) Initiative with the University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus) and representatives from the Jamaican Canadian Association Scholarship Application Program.

This event will cover:

  • What is the Black Youth School Success Initiative (BYSSI)? Meet the team!

  • Understand post-secondary options

  • How to choose the right program for you

  • Admission requirements

  • Awards, scholarships, and bursaries

Who Can Attend?

This event is intended for Black, African, and/or Caribbean students and families. However, anyone who wishes to attend is more than welcome to join.
