Jeniece’s Q+A

What made you want to work with BYSSI?

“I hold a Master’s degree in Education and I am a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers. What propelled me to working with BYSSI was my strong research interest in the areas of Anti-Black Racism, Anti-Oppressive frameworks, and their impact on school policy and increasing retention and graduation rates for Black students in Peel.”

What do you enjoy about working with BYSSI youth & families?

“I enjoy providing BYSSI youth/families with financial literacy skill sessions on budgeting, accessing tax credits, effective financial savings, understanding debt, smart banking and overall financial health. Furthermore, BYSSI’s recent shift to an online platform gives me the opportunity to facilitate a series of financial education seminars to empower parents to play a more active and informed role in guiding their children’s educational pathway.”
